We built a safeguarding module that covers the same essentials a primary school needs from CPOMS, MyConcern or Safeguard My School — KCSIE categories, pupil chronology, external referral tracking, statutory-duty banners for FGM/Prevent, audit-pack PDFs — and made it free as part of every Semseo Training account.
Why free? Because we already give schools the rest of the platform free: accident reporting, first-aider register, AED tracking, RIDDOR wizard. Safeguarding fits naturally alongside, the same DSL who logs an incident already has the system open. Charging extra would be friction. Adoption is what gets us out of bed.
We are not trying to be more feature-complete than the paid incumbents. We are trying to be enough — so the choice between “pay £1,200 a year for what we already have” and “use the free thing” is obvious.

Pupil register
Year group, form, MIS reference, multiple parents/carers with priority-contact flag, and date-bounded designations: LAC, CIN, CP Plan, EHCP, SEND, FSM, PP, Young Carer, Service Family, EAL.
KCSIE concern logging
16 concern categories from physical/emotional/sexual abuse to Prevent and FGM. Risk-level triage (5 levels). Statutory-duty banner auto-shows on FGM / Prevent / honour-based concerns.
Voice of the child
Verbatim quote field on every concern, rendered as a blockquote on the view and in PDF exports. Inspectors look for the exact words — we keep them prominent.
Body-map for visible signs
Click-to-mark SVG silhouette, front and back, anatomical left/right. Description field for size, colour, freshness of the mark.
External referrals
CSC, MASH, LADO, Police, Early Help, Channel (Prevent), NHS/CAMHS, NSPCC, Op Encompass. Outcome status tracked. Daily reminder email to DSLs for referrals 5+ days open with no response.
Pupil chronology
Every concern + referral for one pupil on a single risk-coloured timeline. Downloadable PDF (SHA-256 hash on cover sheet) for school-to-school transfer and LADO meetings.
Tracked actions
Pick from 15 KCSIE-aligned action templates or write free-text. Assign to a staff member, set a due date, mark complete. Overdue items go red and trigger the daily reminder.
Role-based access
DSL (full), DDSL (full), Pastoral (read-only). Click-to-toggle role manager. Records are invisible to non-safeguarding staff — including the rest of your team using the wider Semseo platform.
Audit pack + annual report
Two PDFs: an Ofsted/LADO-ready audit pack (per-concern, SHA-256 tamper-evidence hash) and a year-end safety report with counts, by-month chart, completion rate, agency breakdown.
